1. About Us
J R Legge Carpentry is an owner-led carpentry and construction business based at 10 Grasmere Close, Egham, TW20 8JU. The business is run by Josh Legge. For enquiries, contact jrleggecarpentry@gmail.com or call 07864 812598.
2. Quotes and Pricing
- Josh visits every job in person before quoting. Quotes are provided free of charge and are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated.
- Quotes are based on the information gathered during the site visit. If site conditions differ from what was discussed, or if the scope of the work changes, the price may be revised before work begins — always with your agreement.
- VAT is included in any quoted prices unless stated otherwise.
3. Bookings and Cancellations
- Work is scheduled once a quote has been accepted and a convenient start date has been agreed.
- Please give at least 24 hours notice if you need to change or cancel an appointment. Late cancellations may incur a call-out charge to cover travel and reserved time.
- We reserve the right to reschedule work due to circumstances outside our control (weather, supplier delays, illness), and will give you as much notice as possible.
4. Workmanship
- All work is carried out to a professional standard in line with current trade practice.
- J R Legge Carpentry carries appropriate public liability insurance. Details are available on request.
- Any defects in workmanship reported within 12 months of completion will be rectified free of charge, provided the work has been used as intended and has not been altered or damaged by other parties.
5. Materials and Supply
- For most jobs, Josh can supply materials and include them in the quote. Customers are also welcome to supply their own materials — kitchens, sanitaryware, fencing panels, or anything else — and this should be discussed when the quote is prepared.
- Any materials supplied by J R Legge Carpentry remain the property of J R Legge Carpentry until payment is received in full.
- We will recommend materials suited to your project and budget, but we are not responsible for the long-term performance of third-party products beyond the terms of their own manufacturer warranties.
6. Payment
- Payment is due on completion of the work unless otherwise agreed in writing. Larger projects may be split into stage payments, which will be clearly set out in the quote.
- We accept bank transfer and cash. Other payment methods may be arranged by prior agreement.
- Late payment may result in suspension of any outstanding work or follow-up visits until the balance is settled.
7. Limitation of Liability
Our liability is limited to the value of the work carried out. We are not liable for any indirect losses, including loss of use of the property, loss of data, or consequential business interruption, arising from the work or from any third-party products installed.
8. Website Use
This website is provided for information purposes. We take reasonable care to keep it accurate and up to date, but cannot guarantee that all information is complete or current at every moment. Prices, timeframes, and service details are indicative and subject to confirmation when we visit your property.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
